Win a Weekend trip to Portugal.

We’ll sort of . . .  This Weekend we are tasting some new Portuguese wines.  Maybe it isn’t the same as a free trip, but there is no jet lag.

Saturday (It’s Mayfair in Madrona so check out the festivities then come try the wines.)

2020 Quinta de Chocapalha, Arinto Branco  $14
100% Arinto
Portugal
This Lisbon-region White has a very fresh and aromatic nose with citric fruit, green apple and mineral notes. On the palate it is fresh, with fine intensity, balanced and natural acidity very typical from Arinto grapes, with long aftertaste.

2020 Wine & Soul, Manoella Tinto  $26
60% Touriga Nacional, 25% Touriga Franca, 10% Tinta Roriz, 5% Tinta Francisca
This Douro Red blend imparts fresh notes of raspberry, blackberry and spices. On the palate, this wine shows round and velvety tannins, good concentration, and a long finish.

Sunday we’ll join the M.O.B. in Dao.

2019 M.O.B. (Moreira, Olazabal & Borges) Lote 3 Branco  $16
45% Encruzado 45% Bical 10% Malvasia Fina
Dao
This Dao White is given a beautiful golden color by the maturation and richness of Encruzado and Bical grapes. Its’ subtle aromatics are dominated by a complex bouquet of white fruit, herbs, and minerality. Luxurious in the mouth but then very well balanced and long due to its great acidity.

2017 M.O.B. (Moreira, Olazabal & Borges) Lote 3 Tinto $18
40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Alfrocheiro, 30% Jaen
This Dao Red blend delivers aromas of black and blue fruits with hints of woodsmoke. Medium bodied with flavors of blackberry, elderberry, gingerbread, and hints of vanilla.
