There is a lot going on this weekend in Madrona. The sun is out, but there is more than yard work to do.
Saturday is the opening day of boating season, and the University and Montlake bridges will have their arms in the air for a lot of the day. Good reason to stay close to home and drink some wine. We’ll have a great sampling of local wines open in the afternoon.

Saturday is also The 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby and we’ll be watching the race at the shop at 3:30.
Sunday is Mother’s Day and we’ll be pouring a new deal on Pink Champagne to celebrate.
Antoine de Clairvoy, Rosé Champagne $18
Antoine de Clairvoy Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier with an addition of 15% Premier Cru Red Wine. It opens up in the glass to reveal deep aromas of small woodland strawberries followed by sparkling notes of black currants and red currants, ending with more delicate spicy notes such as vanilla and cinnamon. The mousse is creamy and long-lasting. A lively, fruity and fresh Champagne!
Was $35, Now $18
Sunday is also the artist reception for our new show Wildlife — pen & ink and watercolor drawings by Irene Akio. Come see the new work and meet the artist from 3 to 5.
Madrona Wine Merchants offers free wine tastings featuring 4-5 selections on a theme every Saturday from 2 until the bottles run out and on Sunday we offer a mini-tasting of two wines all day from 11-5.
