Monastrell (mouvedre)
A medium bodied Spanish red with lots of mineral and flint notes and light plummy fruit.

80% Syrah, 20% Grenache
A big, Syrah heavy CDR. Rich and lush. Unfiltered

2009 Chateau D’Oupia, Minervois Tradition    $12
60% Carignan (from 100 years old vineyards), 30% Syrah and 10% Grenache
This old vine Minervois is highly structured with chewy tannins, lots of dark fruits and a robust finish.

2010 Barone Cornacchia, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo    $13
A good bodied rustic red with lots of fruit, leathery notes and smooth tannins. A notch above most Montepooch.

2010 San Felice, Contrada    $10
50% Merlot, 40% Sangiovesse, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
This red wine was created for the Contrade of Siena to be served at their traditional banquets during the days of the Palio ( a yearly horse race). Fresh,and fruity, Contrada is a robust Tuscan food wine with scents of ripe cherries and violet, soft tannins and big bright fruit combined with a balanced acidity.

2009 Les Villaises, Samur Champigny $13
A dry and mineraled Cabernet Franc from the Loire. Great with roasted vegetables, brazed meats.

2010 Domaine des Cassagnoles Cotes de Gasgogne    $10
50% Colombard, 40% Ugni Blanc,10% Gros Manseng
Fresh lime, grapefruit and other citrus notes in a light-bodied, fresh, zesty style.

2009 Bodegas Pedro Escudero Valdelanios Verdejo    $12
100% Verdejo
The Escudero family’s 34 hectare estate consists of gravel and sand over a red clay sub-soil, and is organically farmed. Flavors of lemon verbena, grass, tropical fruits and lime follow in waves. Organic

2008 Moulin de Chauvigné Savennières    $15
Chenin Blanc
This wine, made a small estate in Rochefort sur Loire, sees no oak and doesn’t undergo malolactic fermentation. It has lots of mineral notes coming from the schist soil, a crisp acidity and a rich and concentrated body with notes of clove and citrus. A great alternative to Chardonnay. It will develop with more age. Was $20

A good versatile BBQ red.

2010 Domaine de Mourchon, Côtes du Rhône $13
Grenache, Syrah
‘Mourchon’ = small hill. In this case a 17 hectares of vines farmed as close to organic as practical. Mourchon their philosophy is of minimal interference in vineyard and winery, working. It is a good solid Rhone wine with as much finesse as concentration.

A fresh and fruity Rosé with a little earthy herbaceous note.
